Kansas State Wildcats share first glimpse of their brand new volleyball arena
The Kansas State volleyball team will play matches in a brand new home next season called Morgan Family Arena.
The venue has been under construction for several months, and enough work has been completed for the Wildcats to show off the facility to their volleyball players.
K-State shared a first look at the volleyball arena on Friday with several photos and a short video on social media.
In previous years, K-State played its home volleyball matches inside Ahearn Fieldhouse, which was so outdated that it didn’t even have air conditioning, and Bramlage Coliseum, which was too large for the team and had a cavernous feel to it.
K-State’s new volleyball home is much nicer and modern. It should compare well to most other venues in the Big 12.
Morgan Family Arena features chairback seating and a video board, as well as a state-of-the-art weight room and a locker room.
Athletic director Gene Taylor gave the volleyball team a tour of the facility, and players were understandably excited to see the place.
The Wildcats will host their first game inside Morgan Family Arena on September 1 when they play Omaha.
Jason Mansfield will be in his first year as coach.
