The Kansas State football team has established a recruiting pipeline with Blue Valley.

For the third straight year, the Wildcats have landed an in-state prospect from the high school located in the Kansas City area.

John Price, a 5-foot-11 and 190-pound running back from Stillwell, is the latest Blue Valley football player to pledge his services to the Wildcats. The three-star recruit announced his intentions to play for K-State on Tuesday. He also held scholarship offers from Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota and Oklahoma State.

He will follow in the footsteps of Sterling Lockett (2022) and Andre Davis (2023), who both committed to the Wildcats in recent years. That is excellent news for K-State head coach Chris Klieman, who has made the Kansas City area one of his biggest recruiting areas since he took over in Manhattan.

Price is considered one of the top football prospects in the Sunflower State for the recruiting class of 2024. He ranks fourth in the state rankings, according to 247Sports.

He rushed for 1,004 yards and 12 touchdowns on 142 carries last season, while also adding 132 yards and a score as a receiver.

With Price on board, the Wildcats now have five pledges lined up for the 2024 cycle.

He joins Mill Valley offensive tackle Gus Hawkins along with Pennsylvania offensive lineman Ryan Howard and athlete Jake Stonebraker and quarterback Blake Barnett, who are both from Colorado.
