Kansas State Wildcats add in-state linebacker to 2021 recruiting class

The Kansas State football team added a new member to its 2021 recruiting class Monday when Gaven Haselhorst committed to play for the Wildcats.

Haselhorst is a 6-foot-1 linebacker from Hays who will bring some in-state flavor to the team’s defense.

K-State wasted little time targeting Haselhosrt as a prospect and landing his services in Manhattan. The Wildcats were the first Division I team to offer him a scholarship last week and earned his commitment within a matter of days.

He had previously received recruiting interest from Washburn, Fort Hays State and Hutchinson Community College. But a string of strong showings at summer camps boosted his profile and K-State coaches took notice.

K-State’s 2021 recruiting class now features 11 players. Haselhorst is the second linebacker of the group and the fourth to come from an in-state high school.
