Judah Jones, an athletic receiver and kick returner, has decided to transfer from Kansas State to Stephen F. Austin.

He leaves the Wildcats as a redshirt sophomore and will have three years of eligibility remaining. He can play next season, because the Lumberjacks are members of the Football Championship Subdivision. Stephen F. Austin announced the move with a news release.

“We’re very pleased to add Judah to our roster as he is an outstanding athlete and a young man of great character,” Stephen F. Austin coach Clint Conque said in a statement. “He comes from both a great high school program and a Kansas State program we know well and have a great deal of respect for.

“Judah adds experience, maturity and athleticism to the slot receiver position and will be another weapon on both offense and special teams.”

Jones caught four passes for 51 yards and rushed for 24 yards on two carries last year. But he showed promise in the 2014 spring game, coming off his redshirt season, and K-State coach Bill Snyder said he was improving during 2014 spring practices.
