Former Kansas State basketball players set for barnstorming game in Leavenworth
Several former Kansas State men’s basketball players will take part in a barnstorming game May 5 at Leavenworth High School.
Nino Williams, who graduated from Leavenworth, and former Wildcats teammates Thomas Gipson, Rodney McGruder, Martavious Irving and Jordan Henriquez will be among those playing an exhibition against senior high school players from the Leavenworth area.
There will be an autograph session during 5-6 p.m. before the game, which tips off at 6 p.m. Tickets are $10.
Williams averaged 11.4 points and a team-high 5.3 rebounds last season for Kansas State, and Gipson averaged 11.3 points and 5.3 rebounds.
McGruder, Irving and Henriquez were seniors on the Wildcats’ 2012-13 team.
McGruder led K-State in scoring and rebounding that season, averaging 15.6 points and 5.4 rebounds, while Irving averaged 5.1 points and Henriquez averaged 5.0 points and 5.0 rebounds.
