Power forward Isaiah Maurice officially signs with Kansas State
Kansas State announced the signing Monday of power forward Isaiah Maurice, who committed over the weekend after a recruiting visit.
“We were in need of a big man, and he has all the qualities you want with his versatility, length and size,” K-State coach Bruce Weber said in a statement. “He also has the ability and skill level to step out on the court and make shots. He was a late bloomer in his basketball career and had started to gain a lot of attention late in the season. We were very fortunate to be at the right place at the right time with him.”
A 6-foot-9, 215-pounder from South Hill, Va., Maurice chose K-State over Auburn, Cincinnati and Wake Forest. He averaged 21 points and 10 rebounds as a high school senior. He becomes the sixth member of K-State's 2015 recruiting class, joining forwards Dean Wade and Dante Williams and guards Kamau Stokes, Carlbe Ervin and Barry Brown.
