Senior Nino Williams and sophomore Jevon Thomas will not play for Kansas State in its Big 12 regular-season finale at Texas on Saturday, the K-State athletic department announced Friday evening in a statement.

Williams, according to the statement, will not travel with the team for personal reasons but re-join the team on Monday as it prepares for the Big 12 Tournament. The Wildcats’ first game in the tournament will be Wednesday or Thursday. Williams is averaging 11.3 points and 5.2 rebounds.

Thomas, a guard averaging 4.5 points and 3.3 assists, won’t travel to Austin because of an unspecified decision by coach Bruce Weber. The statement did not mention Thomas’ availability for the Big 12 Tournament, and men’s basketball contact Tom Gilbert didn’t immediately answer a question regarding Thomas’ postseason.

It is the third and fourth time K-State players will have missed games for reasons other than injury. In February, sophomore Marcus Foster and freshman Malek Harris each missed three games after being suspended by Weber for unspecified violations of team rules.
