Kansas State defensive end Jordan Willis will play in the Senior Bowl after his college football career comes to an end.

Willis, the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year, accepted an invitation to the all-star game on Monday. It will be played on Jan. 28 at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala.

The Senior Bowl will give Willis an extra opportunity to showcase his skills in front of professional scouts before he begins full preparations for the NFL Draft.

Willis is expected to be an early-round selection. He is coming off a stellar senior campaign in which he led the Big 12 with 11.5 sacks.

The Senior Bowl invitation capped a string of recent honors for Willis. He was named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year by the league’s coaches and media last week. He also earned third-team All-America honors from the Associated Press on Monday.

Willis, a Kansas City native and former Rockhurst standout, will complete his college football career on Dec. 28 at the Texas Bowl.
