K-State women cruise past Newman 100-33 in exhibition game

Kansas State was firing on all cylinders in its final tune-up of the preseason Monday night, rolling past Newman 100-33 at Bramlage Coliseum.

Senior guard Kindred Wesemann, who starred at Pleasant Hill, led the way for the Wildcats with 21 points and nine assists. Junior forward Kaylee Page scored 17 points, and freshman guard Mercedes Brooks and sophomore guard Kayla Goth added 15 points each.

K-State jumped out to a 12-0 lead and led 46-14 at halftime.

The Wildcats will open the regular season with a 5:30 p.m. game Friday against Chicago State at Bramlage Coliseum.
