Kansas State opened men’s basketball practice Friday afternoon in Manhattan, Kan., with the first of 20 sessions before its first exhibition game Oct. 28.

After two exhibition games, the Wildcats tip off the 2016-17 regular season Nov. 11 against Western Illinois in the second game of a men’s-women’s doubleheader at Bramlage Coliseum.

“This is an exciting day for players and coaches across the country with the start of a new season,” K-State coach Bruce Weber said in a release. “For a coach, the next six weeks will be both a fun and challenging time as we begin to build a foundation for the season. I think we had a great off-season, both in the gym as well as in the weight room, in making improvement.”

Kansas State will hold an open men’s practice from 3:15-4 p.m. Oct. 8 at Bramlage before the Wildcats football game against Texas Tech.
