Kansas State lands first men’s basketball commitment for 2017, shooting guard Mike McGuirl

The Kansas State men’s basketball team has landed its first commitment in its 2017 recruiting class.

Mike McGuirl, a 6-foot-2, 175 pound shooting guard from Bolton, Conn., orally committed to the Wildcats on Sunday. He is one of the top players at East Catholic High, averaging 19 points, six rebounds, four blocks and four assists last season. He is a three-star prospect, according to Rivals.

He chose K-State over Virginia Tech, Florida Gulf Coast, George Mason, Duquesne and several other schools. McGuirl announced the news on social media.
