▪ WHEN/WHERE: Around 2 p.m. Thursday at the Sprint Center

▪ TV/RADIO: ESPN2; KCSP (610 AM), WHB (810 AM)

▪ ABOUT KANSAS (27-4, 15-3 Big 12): The top-ranked Jayhawks enter the Big 12 Tournament on an 11-game winning streak and with a No. 1 NCAA seed all but locked up. The big question entering this week’s games for KU will be motivation. Coach Bill Self said Monday that he wasn’t planning on a minutes limit for his top players, but at the same time, he said he’d ideally like to not tax his guys too much before the season’s most important games next week. KU doesn’t have much to gain from winning at the Sprint Center other than pride, but then again, there should be plenty of that at stake against the team’s instate rival.

▪ ABOUT KANSAS STATE (17-15, 5-13 Big 12): The Wildcats lost their previous two games against the Jayhawks, falling 77-59 on Feb. 3 in Lawrence and 72-63 on Feb. 20 in Manhattan. K-State advanced to Thursday’s quarterfinals with a 75-71 victory over Oklahoma State, which included a career-best 20 points from freshman Dean Wade. The Wildcats improved to 1-9 in league games decided by 10 points or fewer.
