Whether you’re going to basketball games or just passing through downtown, the Big 12 Tournament is making a big impact on traffic in downtown KC.

Games for the men’s and women’s college basketball tournaments started Thursday, March 7, and continue through the men’s championship game this Saturday.

Kansas City is hosting the men’s tournament for the 22nd time. The T-Mobile Center welcomed newcomers to the Big 12 — like University of Houston and Brigham Young University — alongside teams leaving the conference, the Universities of Texas and Oklahoma.

Even with sports taking over downtown, there are still events happening, including concerts at the Midland Theatre featuring comedian Jo Koy and EDM duo Zed’s Dead.

Here are the road closures in Kansas City for the 2024 Big 12 Tournament, from Visit KC.
