Kansas, K-State women’s basketball teams get Big 12 Conference victories
The Kansas and K-State women’s basketball teams have struggled in Big 12 conference play so far this season, but both teams came away with wins Wednesday night.
The Jayhawks handed Iowa State its first home loss, taking a 61-56 victory in Ames, Iowa, and the Wildcats beat Oklahoma State 52-51 in overtime in Manhattan, Kan.
Center Chelsea Gardner led Kansas, 12-9 overall and 3-5 in the Big 12, with 23 points and 11 rebounds.
K-State, 12-7 and 2-6, got it victory after Haley Texada made a free throw with 5 seconds remaining in overtime.
Ashia Woods had 18 points and 11 rebounds for Kansas State.
