▪ ABOUT KANSAS (17-4, 5-3 Big 12): The Jayhawks are coming off a 90-84 overtime victory over Kentucky. Wayne Selden scored a career-best 33 points. Coach Bill Self called the available of frontliner Hunter Mickelson “up in the air,” but Kansas got high-quality minutes from freshman big men Carlton Bragg Jr. and Cheick Diallo against Kentucky.
▪ ABOUT KANSAS STATE (13-8, 2-6 Big 12): The status of starting freshman point guard Kamau Stokes is uncertain. He suffered a noncontact knee injury in Saturday’s home victory over Mississippi and is questionable to play. Carlbe Ervin is expected to start in his place and split time at the point with Wesley Iwundu and Barry Brown. The Wildcats have had close battles with North Carolina, Texas A&M, West Virginia, Baylor and Oklahoma but are seeking their first victory over a ranked opponent.
