  • Big 12 moves Fan Fest indoors to T Mobile Center concourse due to weather.
  • Fan Fest hours will align with venue hours, beginning 60 minutes before game time.
  • Four games are scheduled Friday amid a forecast of wind, hail and possible tornado.

It’s been a stormy start to the day in Kansas City, with rumbles of thunder being heard for hours on Friday morning.

Things should clear up for a while, but there is a threat of high winds and hail later in the day. A tornado isn’t out of the question, either.

Because of the dicey forecast, the Big 12 announced Friday morning that it was moving the Fan Fest activities indoors.

“Due to the forecasted inclement weather, today’s Fan Fest will be moved to the concourse of T Mobile Center to ensure the safety and comfort of all attendees,” the Big 12 said in a release. “Scheduled activities will still take place, and hours of operation will align with venue hours (beginning 60 minutes before game time).

“We look forward to seeing everyone there.”

There are four games scheduled for Friday, beginning with the KSU Wildcats playing Oklahoma State at 11 a.m. That will be followed by TCU vs. BYU at 1:30 p.m.

In the second session, Arizona State takes on West Virginia at 5:30 p.m. with Colorado and Baylor finishing the day.
