Big 12 unveils new court design for basketball tournaments at T-Mobile Center
The basketball court at the center of T-Mobile Center will look different when the Big 12 men’s and women’s tournaments arrive next week in Kansas City.
The Big 12 unveiled its new court design on Friday, and it features several components that have not been present in past years.
For starters, it has a name. The Big 12 is calling it the “XII Court,” and it is appropriately covered in Roman numerals that represent the conference.
No one watching on TV from home will have to wonder about which conference tournament they are viewing in early March.
The vast majority of the court is gray in color with black and white accents. But there is also some red. Three Phillips 66 sponsorship logos can be found at midcourt around. The words “What’s next is decided here” can be found on the bottom of the floor.
This is a departure from past seasons when the Big 12 used a more basic design for its tournament games.
Additionally, the conference has partnered with global sportswear brand and retailer UNDEFEATED on the XII Court design. The court’s apron features the brand’s five-strike logo.
The XII Court will make its debut at the women’s tournament, which begins on March 5. The championship game of that event will take place on March 9. 2025 The men’s tournament will follow from March 11-15.
