Kansas, Kentucky get rematch in 2017 SEC/Big 12 Challenge
A men’s basketball rematch of Kansas against Kentucky — this time in Lexington — is the headliner of the 2017 SEC/Big 12 Challenge, as the matchups were announced Tuesday by the two conferences.
Kansas State will play at Tennessee, while Missouri is one of four Southeastern Conference schools that won’t play in the event for the second straight season.
All 10 games will be on Saturday, Jan. 28, which will interrupt both leagues’ conference play.
KU defeated Kentucky, 90-84 in overtime, in last season’s challenge game at Allen Fieldhouse. That ended up being a turning point in KU’s season, as it was the first of 17 straight victories for the Jayhawks. K-State, meanwhile, picked up a 69-64 home win over Mississippi.
The Big 12 won the challenge, 7-3, a year ago.
