Area players named to U.S. collegiate volleyball team that will tour China this summer

Four volleyball players with area ties, including two from Kansas, one from Kansas State and a Stanford freshman-to-be, have been named to the U.S. collegiate team that will tour China this summer.

KU’s Madison Rigdon are among the team’s outside hitters. K-State’s Katie Brand and KU’s Ainise Havili are among the setters. And Audriana Fitzmorris, who currently attends St. James Academy, will be an opposite hitter.

Part of USA Volleyball’s High Performance program, the team will compete in a series of matches from June 18-July 1. Cities on the tour are Shanghai, Nanjing and Beijing. The team’s coaching staff will be named later this spring.
