Kansas City Kansas women advance to semifinals of NJCAA Division II tourney

The Kansas City Kansas Community College women advanced to final four of the National Junior College Athletic Association Division II tournament.

The Blue Devils beat Owens (Ohio) 78-64 in the quarterfinals on Thursday night at Johnson County Community College, which is hosting the national tournament.

Cheyenn North had a monster game for Kansas City Kansas. North had 20 points, 19 rebounds, seven assists, five blocks and two steals.

Kansas City Kansas, the No. 4 seed in the 16-team field, will face top-seeded Monroe (N.Y.) tonight at 8 p.m.

Monroe, which knocked out North Arkansas 78-55 on Thursday, is 31-0 on the season. Kansas City Kansas is 31-3.
