Park women’s volleyball team needs two wins Saturday for perfect record and NAIA championship

The Park women’s volleyball team lost a set for only the fourth time this season — and in a first, it was the opening set.

But that didn’t stop the second-ranked Pirates, who are still unbeaten and two wins away from a national championship. Park, 38-0, won the next three sets over No. 7 Concordia (Calif.) in the NAIA quarterfinals Friday night in Sioux City, Iowa.

Park continues its march to a perfect season and championship Saturday. First up is a national semifinal against third-ranked Biola (Calif.) at 11 a.m. If the Pirates win, they would face either No. 9 Viterbo (Wis.) or No. 4 Texas at Brownsville for the title at 7 p.m.
