Defending College Football Playoff champion Ohio State received all 61 first-place votes in the preseason Associated Press poll.

The Buckeyes, the first unanimous preseason No. 1 in AP poll history, were followed by TCU, Alabama, Baylor and Michigan State with Auburn, Oregon, Southern California, Georgia and Florida State rounding out the top 10.

Missouri is No. 24, the same spot occupied by the Tigers in last year’s preseason AP poll. Kansas State received votes.

The top four are the same as the USA Today Coaches Poll, which was released earlier. The coaches differed after that, going with Oregon fifth followed by Michigan State, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia and Southern California.
