Missouri, Kansas make prized basketball recruit Michael Porter Jr.’s top 10 cut

As has become the custom, Tolton Catholic small forward Michael Porter Jr. from Columbia trimmed his recruiting list to 10 schools Wednesday via Twitter.

Porter — a five-star recruit and the No. 2 player in the 2017 class, according to Rivals — announced that Missouri and Kansas are still in the running.

Duke, Washington, Stanford, Kentucky, UCLA, Syracuse, Indiana and Virginia also made the final cut.

Porter, a 6-foot-9 high-flyer who plays for Kansas City-based MoKan Elite on the AAU circuit, has drawn comparisons to former NBA MVP Kevin Durant for his wide-ranging skillset.

Porter averaged 28 points per game as a sophomore with Tolton Catholic last season.
