Johnson dominates inside in Missouri State’s win over Oral Roberts

Alize Johnson was a real bear on the boards Wednesday night in Missouri State’s 86-76 win over Oral Roberts.

Johnson grabbed 16 rebounds, including 10 on the offensive end, and added 20 points for the Bears (6-3). He hit 9 of 18 from the field.

Jarred Dixon came off the bench and scored 15 points for Missouri State.

Kris Martin, who finished with a career-high 35 points for Oral Roberts, converted a four-point play with 6:25 left to pull the Golden Eagles (2-9) within one at 70-69. Ryan Kreklow responded with a jumper for Missouri State, and Dixon hit back-to-back jumpers that pushed the Bears’ lead back to five points at 76-71.

Martin, whose previous high was 19 points against Oklahoma on Dec. 7, hit 7 of 14 three-pointers.
