KU women’s soccer will play host to Mizzou in NCAA Tournament
Kansas and Missouri will face off in the first round of the NCAA women’s soccer tournament at 1 p.m. Sunday at Rock Chalk Park in Lawrence.
Kansas, 10-5-4, finished second in the Big 12. Missouri, 11-6-2, was fifth in the SEC. The teams last played in the 2014 NCAA first round, with Missouri beating the host Jayhawks 3-1. The all-time series is even at 10-10-1.
Sunday’s winner will face either No. 2 regional seed North Carolina or Liberty in the second round on Nov. 18.
Division II tournament
The Central Missouri women earned the top seed in the NCAA Central Regional and a first-round bye. The Jennies will face either Central Oklahoma or Minot State at 1 p.m. Sunday in Warrensburg, Mo., for a spot in the round of 16.
In the Midwest Regional, the Truman women are the No. 2 seed and will face either McKendree or Davis & Elkins at noon Sunday in Kirksville, Mo. The Rockhurst women are the No. 4 seed and will play No. 5 Missouri-St. Louis at 11 a.m. Friday in Allendale, Mich. The winner faces top-seeded Grand Valley State in the second round.
On the men’s side, Rockhurst earned a No. 1 seed and will open the NCAA Tournament at home against either Southern Indiana or Quincy at 1 p.m. Sunday.
The NCAA Division II men’s and women’s semifinals and championship games are at Swope Soccer Village. The semis are Dec. 1 and title games on Dec. 3.
