The week ahead

TIGER CLUB LUNCHEON: After an 11 a.m. news conference at the Sprint Center to announce the date and opponent for MU basketball game this fall, Mike Alden and Kim Anderson will appear at a meet and greet at the Westport Flea Market, 817 Westport Road. Buffet lunch (burgers and hot dogs) beginning at 11:30 and informal program at noon. Lunch is free for Tiger Club and KC Mizzou Alumni Chapter members; KCTigerClub.com.

CHAMPIONS MEET: The annual Mo/Kansas all-star track meet for graduating high school seniors is at Fort Osage High School. The meet starts at 6 p.m. and state champions will be recognized at 5:30 p.m. Proceeds go to Special Olympics.

T-BONES: The first 1,500 kids will receive free Thunderstix for the T-Bones game against the Sioux City Explorers at 11:05 a.m.; tbonesbaseball.com.

UMKC HOOPS CAMP: The UMKC boys’ basketball camps with Kangaroos head coach Kareem Richardson includes a team camp Friday and Saturday, an individual camp from Sunday to June 26 and elite camp Aug. 9-10. T-BONES FIREWORKS: The first 1,500 fans will receive a cowbell and there will be a post-game fireworks show for the T-Bones 7:05 p.m. game against the Laredo Lemurs.

PUTTING THE BOOKS TO ALS: The 5K race is June 28 at 8 a.m. at Rockhurst High School and raises money for the Project 5 for ALS Foundation. For more information or to sign up go to www.project5forals.org.

OKLAHOMA STATE GOLF SCRAMBLE: The alumni group will have its chapter golf scramble on June 29 at Hillcrest Golf & Country Club. Check-in is at noon followed by a shotgun start at 1 p.m. A putting contest will start prior to tournament play at 10:30 a.m., and all are welcome to participate; kansascity@orangeconnection.org.

STARS AND STRIPES 5K: The race is July 4 at 7:30 a.m. at Summit Fair in Lee’s Summit. Raises money for Team RWB, a local chapter of a national veteran’s support organization. For more information or to sign up, go to www.starsandstripes5K.com.
