FridayLEGENDS LUNCHEON:The Negro Leagues Baseball Museum’s monthly lunch series will feature Orioles manager Buck Showalter. The hosts are former Royals Willie Wilson and Al Fitzmorris for the luncheon at Bruce Watkins Cultural Center, 3700 Blue Parkway. For tickets for the event, which begins at 11:30 a.m., call 816-221-1920.
SaturdayVENTURA AUTOGRAPHS:Royals pitcher Yordano Ventura will sign autographs from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Hampton Inn, 12081 Strang Line Road in Olathe. The price is $25 per autograph. Call 816-679-9874 with questions.
The Negro Leagues Baseball Museum will open a new exhibit, “Negro Leagues Beisbol.” Organizers say it “examines the cultural and historical connection between the Negro Leagues and Latin America.” The exhibit is free in the museum’s Changing Gallery through Sept. 30. Former Negro League players Enrique Maroto, Pedro Sierra, Hank Mason, George Altman, Carl Long, Gil Carter, Ernie Johnson and Bob Motley will be at an autograph session from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Autographs (one item per person) are free with a paid admission. Additional items can be signed for a donation to the NLBM. For more information, call 816-221-1920.
T-BONES FIREWORKS:There will be a fireworks show following the T-Bones 7:05 p.m. game against Lincoln.
SundayDRESSED TO THE NINES:As part of the Royals’ annual “Salute to the Negro Leagues,” the will wear the uniforms of the Kansas City Monarchs and the Orioles will wear Baltimore Black Sox uniforms. It’s also the “Dressed to the Nines” event where fans are asked to wear “their Sunday best in a symbolic salute to the way fans dressed for Monarchs games.” The first 10,000 fans will receive a special Monarchs fedora. Negro League veterans will participate in a special “Meet-and-Greet” and sign autographs from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the Royals Hall of Fame Pavilion. For more information, call 816-221-1920.
