Victor Wembanyama Makes Calm Admission About Trump's NBA Finals Presence
Victor Wembanyama is not letting the extra noise around Game 3 become a distraction. The San Antonio Spurs are already under pressure after dropping the first two games of the NBA Finals to the New York Knicks, and now the spotlight is only getting brighter with President Donald Trump expected to attend.
But Wembanyama made it clear that he has learned how to block out attention like this. For him, the focus is still simple: stay locked in, control what he can, and help the Spurs get back into the series.
Speaking to the media ahead of the third game he said, "Not really. I think it could be. Isolating myself is something I've practiced over the years and I think I'm good at it so it's not a problem. This is something similar media wise, like the Olympics."

Game 3 feels like the moment where this series could either become interesting again or start slipping away from San Antonio completely.
The Spurs have had stretches where they looked good enough to beat New York, but the problem is what happens when the pressure rises. Late-game decision-making has not been clean, and against a team as settled as the Knicks, those mistakes are brutal. New York does not need many openings to punish you.
That is where the difference has been so far. The Knicks have not always been perfect, but they look more comfortable in the chaos. They have multiple players who can make a play, multiple defenders who can switch assignments, and enough experience to slow the game down when things get tight.
San Antonio, on the other hand, still feels like a young team learning Finals basketball in real time. Wembanyama can produce special moments, but the Spurs need cleaner possessions around him and fewer rushed choices when the game is hanging in the balance.
Madison Square Garden only makes that challenge tougher. The building is going to be loud, emotional, and packed with pressure from the opening tip. Every turnover, every missed shot, and every Knicks basket will feel bigger.
New York has a chance to take full control now. San Antonio has to prove it can handle the moment before the series gets away from them.
