Skip Bayless Predicts Stephanie White's Firing From Indiana Fever Amid Caitlin Clark Issue

Sports commentator Skip Bayless went viral on Sunday after he reported that Stephanie White had been fired from the Indiana Fever amid her "repeated in-game clashes with Caitlin Clark." However, WNBA reporters were quick to shut down the claim, with Alexa Philippou of ESPN and Chloe Peterson of the Indianapolis Star saying that it's "completely untrue" and "there is no validity" to the report.

Instead of apologizing for his mistake, though, Bayless didn't back down and proceeded to predict that White will be fired sooner rather than later.

"Now they're saying reports are erroneous about Stephanie White. But the point is, she won't last much longer clashing during games with CAITLIN CLARK ... even if her issues with Caitlin are mostly valid," Bayless wrote on X amid the reports refuting his initial claim.

Bayless' message came a day after the Fever endured a 16-point blowout loss to the Portland Fire.

During the game, Clark and White were spotted getting into a rather intense exchange on the bench. While it's unknown what the two said to each other, many fans noticed how the Fever head coach pointed at Raven Johnson and asked her to take Clark's place in the huddle.

Caitlin Clark and Stephanie White's Relationship

For what it's worth, it might be too early to take Clark and White's recent interaction too seriously. After all, it's not the first time that Clark has butted heads with her coaches, and the Fever were still fine after that.

In fact, while speaking on a podcast recently, White said that she and Clark have a lot of similarities, which makes her love working with the All-Star guard even more.

"I have so much respect and admiration for her as a player, as a person, the way that she handles herself," White said of Clark. "We are very much alike in terms of our competitive fire, our competitive spirit, our perfectionism and type a personalities. I love going to work with her every day. I love that she loves to be coached, challenged and pushed."

WNBA legends Cheryl Miller and Sue Bird are also not making a big deal out of it, adding that it's just "frustration" at the end of the day and is something normal for competitive athletes.
