Watch elite softball players from all over the country at this KC area tournament
Before the first FIFA World Cup kickoff in Kansas City, another athletic tournament will take place in Kansas and Missouri.
The 2026 Top Gun Invitational, a softball tournament for teenage girls, is expected to attract 15,000 players, coaches, supporters and scouts to the Kansas City area from June 11 to 14.
For the 14th year, fast-pitch softball players from ages 12 to 19 will face off at the Johnson County-based tournament.
Approximately 325 softball clubs were accepted into the invitation-only event— including the Atlanta Vipers and Texas Hotshots, the Nebraska Gold and the Minnesota Renegades. They come from 32 states as far off as California, Florida, North Carolina and Washington.
Coaches from nearly 350 colleges will scout future talent during the tournament.
Visit KC estimates 60% of attendees will fly to event, which takes place at diamonds in Kansas City, Lee’s Summit, Belton, Shawnee and Overland Park. Players pay up to $1,795 to participate in the tournament.
And anyone in the Kansas City area can catch the action. Day passes cost $12 for adults and $6 for kids, seniors and military.
