Carlos Rodon Announces New Yankees Partnership During MLB Season
The middle of the MLB season is usually dominated by conversations about standings, pitching rotations and postseason races, especially when it comes to the New York Yankees. Carlos Rodon has certainly been part of those discussions as the veteran left-hander continues trying to help New York chase down the top spot in the AL East.
However, Rodon used this week to shine a spotlight on something much more personal away from the field. The Yankees pitcher and his foundation officially announced a new partnership with the organization for a special event at Yankee Stadium this summer, one that carries major meaning for Rodon and his family while also helping families dealing with fertility struggles and the high costs associated with treatments like IVF.
Carlos Rodon Foundation Teams Up With Yankees
Rodon and the Carlos Rodon Foundation announced a partnership with the Yankees for "A Game of Impact" at Yankee Stadium on July 5. The event is designed to support the foundation's Willow Grant, which helps families afford fertility treatments such as IVF.
The foundation shared the news on Instagram, writing, "You are not alone in this journey, and on July 5th, we're proving it together."
According to the announcement, $10 from every ticket sold through the special foundation link will go directly to the Willow Grant. Fans who purchase through the link will also receive a limited-edition Carlos Rodon Foundation hat.
"This is more than a baseball game," the foundation wrote. "It's a community showing up for the families who need it most."
A Cause With Deep Meaning For Rodon Family
The Carlos Rodon Foundation was created by Rodon and his wife, Ashley, and its mission is rooted in their own family journey.
On the foundation's website, the couple shares that they experienced multiple pregnancy losses before eventually welcoming their daughter, Willow. That experience helped inspire the Willow Grant, which is meant to provide hope and financial assistance for families facing similar fertility challenges.
Rodon has had plenty of important nights at Yankee Stadium since joining New York, but this one carries a different kind of meaning.
For the Yankees, it is another chance to connect the team's platform with a personal cause close to one of their own players. For Rodon and his foundation, it is a chance to turn one summer afternoon in the Bronx into something that can help families far beyond the ballpark.
