Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Injured As 'Nightmare' Day For Blue Jays Continues

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. left Sunday's Blue Jays vs. Pirates game with an injury.

Toronto, hosting Pittsburgh in a Sunday afternoon game, lost starting pitcher Dylan Cease to an apparent injury earlier in the afternoon. Cease, who signed with the Blue Jays this offseason, left the game with an apparent injury. The Blue Jays, who have already been reeling with pitching depth blows, are now dealing with a big loss.

"Dylan Cease has been removed from today's game with an apparent injury. Just about the last thing the Blue Jays' rotation can take right now. Updates to come as they're shared with us," Keegan Matheson reported.

Shortly after Cease left the game, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. immediately exited the game, with an apparent arm injury. Guerrero Jr. was hit in the elbow by a pitch. He walked off the field, past the trainers and into the clubhouse.

Guerrero Jr. was seen pointing at his elbow, perhaps indicating some type of fracture or major bruising.

It's been a nightmare type of day for the Blue Jays, who are coming off a tough series in New York.

Guerrero Jr. immediately left the game following the hit by pitch.

Blue Jays fans are devastated.

"You cannot tell me someone didn't curse this Blue Jays team during the World Series," one wrote.

"Fingers crossed his elbow isn't dislocated," one added.

"Prob the best thing is for Jr to leave for a while. His attitude needs adjustment. Let somebody else get some hits. He acts like he's top of mlb but he's horrible for $500 million," one added.

"Thinking he got smoked in the funny bone area. Probably lost all feeling in his arm," another fan added.

The Blue Jays, 25-27 on the season, are trailing the Pirates, 4-0, as we head into the seventh inning Sunday.
