Chase County 3- Marion 2

To open postseason play, the Bulldogs sent Noah Green to the mound to begin the bracket run. He opened the game with two scoreless innings, and the Bulldogs gave him two runs through those two innings. In the first inning, Green helped his own cause with an RBI double, and in the second, a hit by pitch and two walks scored the second run.

In the top of the third, Marion got two hits, then an error from the Bulldog defense allowed the first run, and then the second run scored on a passed ball. With the score being tied at two, Brant Potter broke the tie in the bottom of the inning with an RBI single to make it 3-2. That would be the final run scored in the game.

The pitching for both teams solidified after the third inning, and the bats went quiet. Green went six innings, allowing two runs (both unearned), four hits, walking three, and striking out eight. Hudson Doty gave a clean inning in relief to close the game and give the Bulldogs a win to advance in the bracket. Green also had a two-hit day, while Wyatt Griffin added two runs scored.

With the win, the Bulldogs will head to Marion on May 19 to face off against Marmaton Valley.

SLC 11- Yates Center 1

SLC handled business in their quarterfinal matchup against Yates Center. They opened the scoring with a two-run first inning as Brayden Lienemann had an RBI groundout, then, after three straight walks, a John Musick groundout drove in the second run. Later in the third, they added three more runs as Kael Wagaman doubled in the first run, then Musick added a two-RBI double to make it 5-0.

The fifth inning saw Yates Center score its first run, but SLC closed the game with a six-run bottom of the fifth. SLC scored twice on walks, twice on hit by pitches, and twice on singles. With the score being 11-1, SLC ran ruled to advance in the regional bracket. Lienemann had a two-hit two-RBI day, and Musick had three RBIs. SLC used a bullpen game as Ryker Windle, Wagaman, Lienemann, and Henry Tajchman each had at least one inning pitched. Tajchman got the win for his one inning of work.

They advance to play Flint Hills on May 19 as they travel to Central Heights.

Central Heights 9- NH 0

Errors and quiet bats undid the Wildcats chances in this game. TJ Dean had the lone hit for the Wildcats, and Kelton Bish pitched five and two-thirds innings of work. The eight errors from the Wildcat defense allowed Central Heights to have a lot more opportunities, which they took advantage of.

With the loss, the Wildcats finish the season 1-18.

Uniontown 11- Wolfdogs 3

The Wolfdogs scored the first three runs of the game before Uniontown got the bats going in this one. An Alec Stice sacrifice fly and a Rayden Risner hit a two-RBI groundout to give the Wolfdogs a 3-0 lead. Then, back-to-back four-run innings from Uniontown soured the game for the Wolfdogs. They added three more in the fifth to fully put the game out of reach.

The offense was led by Colby Fehr and Matteo Plummer's two-hit days along with Risner's two-RBI day. With the loss, the Wolfdogs end the year 6-10.
