Duke's Cameron Boozer Did What He Had to Do at the NBA Combine

Duke‘s Cameron Boozer is certainly one of the most talked-about players available to scoop up at the upcoming NBA draft. Mocks usually have him going at No. 3 to the Memphis Grizzlies, but some have him going as high as No. 2 or as low as No. 4.

Heading into the 2026 NBA Combine, Boozer knew that he needed a solid showing to secure that highest possible draft slot. Well, he showed up and did what he had to do. After Boozer’s appearance at Combine, there’s little question that this player is ready for the big time.

In a post-Combine feature for the NBA’s official website, Krysten Peek says that Boozer impressed with his strong numbers, proving “quicker in the speed drills than people expected,” and how he looked during the action on the court. He also had solid measurements at 6-foot-8 1/4 with a 7-foot-1 1/2 wingspan.

“He had a faster pro lane sprint and shuttle drill than Caleb Wilson (and Cooper Flagg last year); he looked physically stronger than he did during the season at Duke,” Peek states.

Peek adds: “Boozer also shot 19-for-25 in the spot-up drill and 18-for-30 in the dribble pull-up segment, giving teams a lot to think about at the top of the draft.”

Going into the 2026 NBA Combine, there was talk of Boozer falling to No. 4 in the draft and going to the Chicago Bulls. Of course, going at No. 4 is nothing to be ashamed of, but after his showing at Combine, I don’t see Boozer going anywhere but at No. 3 to the Grizzlies.

Boozer was expected to shine at Combine, but his numbers were even better than projected, which gives him an instant boost. Add to that his experience at Duke, where he was named ACC Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year and Naismith National Player of the Year, and Boozer is a superstar in the making.
