NFL Fans Are 'Relieved' By Tony Romo's 2026 Schedule
The NFL officially announced the complete 2026 regular season schedule earlier this week, going into full detail on the Week 1 slate, the holiday games, the broadcasting networks and more.
Tony Romo, who has been calling games for CBS since the 2017 season, remains the No. 1 color commentator on the network. He and Jim Nantz call CBS's biggest game of the week - often an AFC contest - during the regular season. He's called a lot of Chiefs vs. Bills games over the years.
Romo is obsessed with both Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen - and why shouldn't he be? They are the two best in the game most of the time. And they play the most important position in sports - a position Romo is all too familiar with.
But some NFL fans have gotten annoyed with Romo during the Chiefs vs. Bills games, as it becomes a bit of a drool fest.
However, as we head into the 2026 NFL regular season, we've learned that Romo will NOT be calling the Chiefs vs. Bills game this fall.
NBC will have it on Thanksgiving night.
"That's the rivalry of its time," JimNantz told Sports Illustrated's Jimmy Traina. "But, you know, you're not gonna get it every year. So, I'm O.K. with it. I have faith we're going to get a very good schedule. I kind of had a sinking feeling that one of these years, somebody else was gonna get the chance to have that great matchup. It's O.K."
NFL fans 'relieved' Romo won't be calling it
"No Romo!" one said.
"Finally! Can't wait to listen without Romo," one shared.
"Loving this," one added.
"Love Romo, but he's just too much during the Chiefs vs. Bills games. Will be fun without him," one shared.
"This is something worth celebrating," another added.
Rejoice, NFL fans, you don't have to listen to Romo during the Chiefs vs. Bills game this year.
