Victor Wembanyama Makes Drake Look Staggeringly Short In This Photo

San Antonio Spurs All-Star center and newly anointed Defensive Player of the Year Victor Wembanyama humiliates grown men for a living.

Wembanyama’s opponents regularly shrug when asked what to do about him. “He’s eight feet tall, so, yeah, he’s gonna cover up the rim any time he’s on the floor,” Minnesota Timberwolves All-Star guard Anthony Edwards said earlier this week.

Edwards and his NBA counterparts don’t have a choice but to size themselves up against Wemby.

Drake had a choice, and he chose to pose next to one of the tallest men in the world.

The Spurs posted a photo on Instagram and X on Friday showing Wembanyama posing next to Drake. It appears to be an older photo, based on Wemby’s dyed hair, which means he’s even taller now than he was when he reduced Drake to a garden gnome.

The Spurs posted the photo in celebration of Drake’s new album, “ICEMAN,” which arrived on Friday - the famed Canadian rapper also simultaneously released “HABIBTI” and “MAID OF HONOUR” - but they sort of accidentally did him dirty.

As aforementioned, there’s no shame in looking cartoonishly short next to Wembanyama. The man is nicknamed “The Alien” for a reason. But that doesn’t make it any less visually funny when it happens.

Wembanyama and the Spurs face a tall task after closing out Minnesota by winning Game 6 139-109 on Friday night. They’ll next face the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference Finals.

The Thunder have yet to lose in the playoffs - sweeping the Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Lakers en route to the Western Conference Finals - but nobody had the Thunder’s number better than the Spurs in the regular season. San Antonio went 3-1 against Oklahoma City, 4-1 if you count the NBA Cup semifinal.
