Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Delivers Public Message After Eliminating Lakers
The Oklahoma City Thunder swept the Los Angeles Lakers in their second-round playoff series, extending their postseason record to 8-0.
Gilgeous-Alexander’s personal statistics dropped compared to the Thunder’s opening series against the Phoenix Suns. The reigning NBA MVP averaged 33.8 points per game in Round 1 and 24.5 points per game in Round 2.
Gilgeous-Alexander isn’t worried about his dip in personal production, as long as his team continues to notch wins.
“I'm not thinking about how I could've ate more, I'm thinking about how I could win eight more,” the OKC point guard wrote on Instagram after a Game 4 win over the Lakers, which saw him score a game-high 35 points.

Gilgeous-Alexander and the No. 1 seed Thunder now turn their attention toward the Western Conference Finals, where they’ll face off against the winner of the second-round series between the San Antonio Spurs and Minnesota Timberwolves.
“We’ve done our job so far, that’s all it really means,” Gilgeous-Alexander said after the Thunder’s second-round sweep. “We’ve gone out there, we’ve executed, we’ve played at a high level and we’ve been able to win eight tough games against really good opponents. That’s all it means. Nothing is guaranteed.”
