Deion Sanders Floats Cornerback Camp Idea to Chad Johnson
Deion Sanders and Chad Johnson never really had that classic cornerback-receiver beef. No bad blood, no lingering grudges. But they built a genuine mutual respect between two players who understood the game at a level most never reach.
Their careers crossed briefly when Sanders was finishing up with the Baltimore Ravens and Johnson was emerging as one of the Cincinnati Bengals' best weapons. A 2005 matchup between the two stood out, with a younger Johnson calling Sanders "Prime" as a straight-up sign of respect.
That bond has held up long after both hung up their cleats and it grabbed attention again recently when talk of a joint camp started making the rounds online.
Sanders and Ocho Trade Shots Over a Potential Joint Camp
Sanders recently took to X, pitching the idea of running a corner camp alongside Johnson's already established Ocho's Receiver Camp.
"I got a GREAT idea because I love your receiver camp!" Sanders wrote. "I can have a Corner camp when u have your rec camp and we get down and see what's what and who's who! Let's start off with us. I will still baptize u with 8! And you know what I mean! It's ALWAYS onsight. Pray about it! "
Johnson was quick to respond. He came back with the same mix of love and competitive energy that's always defined their dynamic.
"I love you boss man and would love a WR/DB joint camp, my last baptism is starting to wear off so you can get these 1 on 1's, I'm always open. " Ocho replied.

Sanders has taken his share of playful shots at Johnson over the years. Not long ago, he said during an appearance on the "NightCap" podcast that he wouldn't hire Ocho as a "real coach" because Johnson wasn't built for the 18-hour grind that comes with the job. Johnson took it in stride, same as always.
But the back-and-forth has never damaged what they have. If anything, it adds to it.
If this camp does come together, it won't just be two legends showing up for a photo opportunity. Both Sanders and Johnson built their careers on technique and football IQ and a joint session between a shutdown corner and one of the sharpest route runners the game has seen would be worth watching.
