New Leading Candidate Emerges to Host WrestleMania 44: Report

WrestleMania 42 is over, and after back-to-back years in Las Vegas, the WWE is looking elsewhere to hold its biggest event in the coming years.

In a recent interview with current company president Nick Khan, the head of the WWE said that while WrestleMania 41 and 42 were considered successes, they probably wouldn’t hold their largest spectacle in the same city in consecutive years again.

Khan and WWE have already announced that WrestleMania 43 will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

For the first time in the illustrious history of the event, WrestleMania will be held outside of North America. It will be the first time it’s been held outside of the United States since WrestleMania 18, over two decades ago in Toronto, Canada.

But a new report suggests that WrestleMania will return to the United States after its trip to Saudi Arabia.

Per Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer, Nashville has made a bid of “$3.5 million plus tax breaks” for WrestleMania 44 in 2028.

Before Saudi Arabia locked down its agreement to host WrestleMania 43, Nashville was the frontrunner to host the event, with the opening of its new NFL stadium for the Tennessee Titans.

It would be the first WrestleMania to be held in the state of Tennessee.

New Orleans was also in line to host an upcoming WrestleMania, but that was discarded in favor of returning to Las Vegas for 2026. While they’ve been promised a future WrestleMania, New Orleans will host the Money in the Bank premium live event later this year.

The city of Indianapolis has also been promised a WrestleMania in the coming years, having agreed to a deal with the WWE that would bring multiple premium live events to the city as part of its bid to become a hub for top-tier entertainment and sporting events.
