Spartans Tennis Compete in Home Meet to Begin the Final Stretch of the Season
The final stretch of the tennis season is here as the league meets are right around the corner. Ringing in the final stretch, the Spartans tennis team competed in their home meet on Friday and saw a familiar face in the top ten by the end of the meet.
The player who continues to have solid outings for the Spartans is Brecken Hines, as he was the top-placing Spartan at the meet. He finished in tenth place after going 2-2 on the day. His victories were dominant, winning 8-1 and 8-2 in those matches at the home meet.
"I felt like some of the guys were on and some of the guys were off. The guys who were off struggled with consistency and getting the ball in. The guys who were on were really locked in and hitting some big shots and serves," Head Coach Saul Trujillo said about his team's performance. "He's [Brecken] had a good season. A lot of ups and downs, trying to focus on being more consistent. His serve has been big and has been looking really great."
The next action for the Spartans tennis team is another home meet on April 28, as they will look to finish the season strong before the League meets begin.
