Roberto De Zerbi Shares Xavi Simons & Dominic Solanke Injury Updates After Tottenham Win
Tottenham Hotspur get their first Premier League win of 2026 by beating Wolves 1-0 away from home.
Spurs remain in the relegation zone despite their win over Wolves, as West Ham United defeated Everton 2-1. Their next Premier League match will be an away game against Aston Villa.
The match did have two low points ahead of the next four Premier League games left for Tottenham, as the team faced two injuries in the squad, including Xavi Simons.
The Dutch attacking midfielder started the match, but in the 63rd minute, Xavi Simons went down by the edge of the box and struggled to get up. He had to be taken off the pitch on a stretcher.
Tottenham Hotspur manager Roberto De Zerbi was asked for an update on Xavi Simons and Dominic Solanke, who were taken off before halftime with another injury.
De Zerbi's on Xavi Simons' Injury Status
Roberto De Zerbi has now lost two players due to injuries following the 1-0 win against Wolves. Ahead of the match against Aston Villa, the team is expected to be without Xavi Simons.
De Zerbi said, "For Solanke, it's not a big problem. I don't know how many games we will lose him, but I would like to know the situation of Xavi because the knee is always different than a muscular injury."
The Italian manager revealed having a conversation about Xavi Simons' injury and said, "He felt pain, but now I spoke with him two minutes ago, and he feels better than at the beginning of his injury."
