Fever Coach Stephanie White Issues Statement on New Indiana Player
Stephanie White and the Indiana Fever are looking to build on a successful 2025 WNBA campaign that saw them finish with a 24-20 season.
Despite losing key player Caitlin Clark to injury earlier in the campaign, they managed to outlast the Atlanta Dream, 2-1. They also went the distance against eventual champions Las Vegas Aces, where A'ja Wilson had to put up an incredible stat line of 24.0 PPG, 9.4 RPG, 2.8 APG and 2.8 SPG just to put the Fever away.
Their impressive performance gives the Fever faithful enough belief that White's roster is only a couple of moves away from winning a championship. The team looks to finally complete their roster's missing piece through the draft, and White has good things to say about the team's latest rookie.
Stephanie White Praises Raven Johnson After Fever Takes South Carolina Guard in 2026 Draft
The Fever selected Raven Johnson with the tenth overall pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft. The 5'8" guard was a key piece for the South Carolina Gamecocks' incredible run to the finals of the 2026 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament, where they handily lost to the UCLA Bruins, 79-51.
White held no reservations with praising the latest guard who is slated to work alongside Clark in the coming years.
"She's just a winner," White said of Johnson, via the Fever's Instagram post. "When you have players that understand how to win... they know how to play with other geat players. It's going to impact our team."
ohnson is joining the Fever off a strong senior season for the Gamecocks. She averaged 9.9 points, 4.0 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.5 steals in a Women's NCAA Divison I-leading 40 appearances. She was named to the Women's 2025-26 WBCA All-America Team and AP All-America Third Team.
