There’s enough viewing interest to go around for Kansas City’s major professional sports teams.

According to Nielsen, the Royals earned a 14.0 rating for their Friday night game against the Los Angeles Angels on Fox Sports Kansas City, higher than the combined total of the city’s 10 other over-the-air stations in prime time that night (13.3).

On Saturday, the Chiefs’ preseason victory over the Arizona Cardinals, which started at 8 p.m., earned an approximate 16.2 rating on KCTV (Ch. 5). The Royals-Angels game, which started at 6:10 p.m., earned a 10.9 rating on Fox Sports 1, and when the Chiefs and Royals overlapped, the teams combined for a 53 share, meaning half of the Kansas City audience watching TV at the time were tuned into local sports.

On Sunday, the Royals earned an approximate 19.8 rating in Kansas City on ESPN.
