  • K-State will play Arizona without starting receiver Jerand Bradley on Friday.
  • Running back Dylan Edwards remains questionable with an ongoing ankle injury.
  • Defensive end Ryan Davis may return after missing time with an undisclosed issue.

A pair of important Kansas State football players may be healthy enough to suit up for the Wildcats later this week when the team travels to Arizona for its final nonconference game of the season.

But K-State will be without at least one key starter come kickoff at 8 p.m. Friday in Tucson.

K-State football coach Chris Klieman provided several injury updates at his weekly news conference on Monday. He said that starting running back Dylan Edwards has a 50% shot to play in the game, while defensive end Ryan Davis has “a really good chance” to see action.

That’s the good news. On the flip side, starting wide receiver Jerand Bradley has already been ruled out.

“We will not have (Bradley),” Klieman said. “I think he’s going to be down for a few weeks. We’re learning more this week with some more imaging, but it’s likely that we’re going to miss him for a few weeks. I don’t know if that’s two. I don’t know if that’s four. But I doubt if we’ll have (Bradley) this week.”

Bradley suffered an undisclosed injury as he nearly hauled in a pass from Avery Johnson in the end zone against Army on Saturday. The play was originally ruled a touchdown, by it was overturned by video review after the ball popped out with a pair of defenders tackling the K-State wide receiver.

K-State will miss Bradley while he is out. The Boston College transfer has caught 10 passes for 152 yards and one touchdown in his first three games with the Wildcats.

Without him, K-State could rely more on Adonis Moise, Sterling Lockett and Jemyri Davis at wide receiver.

It would seriously help K-State on offense if Edwards is able to play this week. The Derby product suffered an ankle injury on his play of the season and he has been unable to take the field since then with an ankle injury.

For now, Klieman says he is considered “probably in that questionable to doubtful range.”

On defense, it seems like K-State is about to add a contributor to its front seven with sophomore defensive lineman Ryan Davis.

“At Big 12 Media Days in (Frisco), everybody asked those older guys to give them one guy that everybody’s excited about. It was Ryan Davis,” Klieman said. “He’s going to practice today. So let’s see what happens. But that would help solidify some things on the defensive line.”

No further injury updates are expected until game day. Big 12 teams are required to submit multiple injury reports before league games, but this is technically a nonconference game that won’t count in the Big 12 standings because it was scheduled back when Arizona was a member of the Pac-12.
