S.H. Kim earns first Korn Ferry Tour win at AdventHealth Championship in KC

S.H. Kim did most of the hard work early.

He entered the final day of the AdventHealth Championship at KC’s Blue Hills Country Club following a dominant first three rounds — and with the chance for his first Korn Ferry Tour win after four prior runner-up finishes.

Kim, who went one-under Sunday for a four-round total of minus-20, was dialed in the day before, shooting a 6-under 66. He finished Saturday 19-under, marking the lowest opening 54-hole score at the Korn Ferry Tour event since its relocation in 2019.

He also shot a 7-under 65 Friday, his best round at the AdventHealth Championship.

Indeed, the hard work was done long before his tap-in on 18 and double-fist pump to celebrate his first PGA Tour-sanctioned win, though the water-bottle dousing that followed certainly cooled him off a bit.

Kim, who first qualified for the PGA Tour in 2023 and had conditional status in 2025, is the new No. 1 on the Korn Ferry Tour after his fourth top-10 (and third top-2) finish this season.

Coming in second was Blaine Hale Jr., who shot 9-under Sunday — the best final round of any participant — for a four-day total of 17-under. Hale held PGA Tour membership for the 2024 season.

Ben Taylor, Alvaro Ortiz and Carter Jenkins all tied for third at 16-under. Ortiz also shot a 9-under 63 Friday and was tied with Kim for the lead after two days.

More on S.H. Kim’s win

The Korn Ferry Tour noted Sunday that Kim became the eighth tour winner under the age of 30 this season. He’s 26.

The tour also noted he’s the seventh player representing South Korea to win on the tour and first since 2022.

Kim’s total of 20-under 268 also marked the lowest score at the AdventHealth Championship since its relocation to Blue Hills Country Club in 2019. The win marked Kim’s third trophy worldwide.
