KC Roos women win, men’s season ends in Summit League basketball tournament
The Kansas City Roos women’s basketball team is moving on at the Summit League Tournament in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
The third-seeded Roos women will play No. 2 seed South Dakota in the conference semifinals at 3 p.m. Monday after beating sixth-seeded North Dakota State 81-74 on Sunday afternoon.
All five starters for KC (23-6) scored in double-digits, led by Naomie Alnatas’ 32 points. Kiara Bradley and Paige Bradford recorded double-doubles.
The No. 4 seed Roos men saw their season come to a close a few hours later in a 74-61 loss to fifth-seeded South Dakota. KC (19-12) was led by Marvin Nesbitt Jr., who made his 121st appearance in a Roos uniform, tying the program record, and finished with a game-high 19 points.
