Kansas City Mavericks play public skate, tree-lighting ceremony Friday

Here is what is going on with the Kansas City Mavericks minor-league hockey team this week.

Weekend Recap

The Mavericks lost 4-2 to the Rapid City Rush at Cable Dahmer Arena in Independence Tuesday evening. They also lost 4-3 to the Rush in overtime last Friday.

Upcoming Games

The Mavericks host the Idaho Steelheads this Friday.

There will be a Tree Lighting Spectacular and Public Skate from 2-5 p.m., before the game. Ticket packages are available for $20.

The Mavericks host the Steelheads again Saturday for Elf Night. Santa will be in attendance taking pictures with fans from 6-8 p.m.

Fans are encouraged to bring new teddy bears to toss out onto the ice after the Mavs score their first goal. Teddy bears will be donated to Salvation Army.
