Kansas State claimed its first conference victory of the season last week. And now Mizzou has a prime opportunity to break into the league-victory column Saturday at SEC foe Vanderbilt.

The Wildcats rallied from a two-touchdown deficit to beat Texas Tech on the road, and a defensive play sparked the comeback: Felix Anudike-Uzomah, from Lee’s Summit, produced a safety. In this episode of The Star’s daily sports podcast, SportsBeat KC, beat writer Kellis Robinett discusses all things Wildcats.

Mizzou, meanwhile, is coming off an open week and heads to Vanderbilt in a battle of teams that are winless in SEC games this season. Can the Tigers break through and avoid the sort of upset loss they encountered two years ago in Nashville? They picked up a huge commitment since playing their last game, in five-star St. Louis-area receiver Luther Burden.

Beat writer Lila Bromberg joins us to talk about MU.
