Virginia is still alive in the College World Series.

The Cavaliers forced a third game in the event’s championship series by defeating Vanderbilt 3-0 on Tuesday night. The teams will play the deciding game at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Virginia started freshman Adam Haseley on the mound. Haseley hadn’t pitched since May 23, but he tossed five scoreless innings.

The Cavaliers finally broke a scoreless tie with three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Vanderbilt, which is seeking its second straight NCAA baseball title, suffered its first loss of the postseason and had a nine-game winning streak snapped.
