Hockey team plans ‘Seinfeld’ night with Puffy Shirt jerseys
Sports teams having “Seinfeld” theme for a game is not new.
But the Bakersfield Condors hockey team (of the ECHL) have something planned for a game on Nov. 16 that takes things to another level (and we don’t mean their whole apartment is levels).
The Condors will wear special “Puffy Shirt” jerseys as part of an entire Seinfeld-themed game night event.
As the team wrote in its news release: “And in case you were wondering, the jerseys are real … and they’re spectacular.”
The players names will be replaced by characters from the show, including memorable supporting characters like Kenny Bania, Crazy Joe Davola and Bubble Boy. No Elaine, though. However, the team is taking suggestions for five jersey names via social media.
And the corporate sponsors will be Seinfeld-themed: Kramerica, Vandelay Industries, Pendant Publishing and others.
Other promotions that night will include face painting (“Gotta Support The Team”), Coffee Table Book raffle and a rickshaw race on the ice.
